Chimaobi Emmanuel Obi was born in Imo state, Nigeria, on the 23rd of December 1998. He is the last of seven children; he learned to play football from a young age. Obi is a Nigerian football player who plays centre forward and has played four years in Brazil in the second division. He is working on his dreams of playing in Europe and is currently in Poland playing for GKS Wilga Garwolin in the 4th Liga.

In his early life, Obi would join his siblings in helping his mother sell fruit in the street to help support their family. His nickname on and off the pitch was Europe, as everyone believed he was talented enough to play in Europe one day as a Professional Footballer. His mother always supported his football and accepted the option for him to sacrifice his secondary education to play football. At 15, he started playing local football competition. 

Chimaobi Emannuel Obi Career

Obi started his professional career when he was 19; he was signed to a main division club in Brazil, Planaltina Esporte Club, and played in the under-20 Campeonato Championship. He got there as the window was almost closed, but management believed in his football talent, so he was also registered to take part in the apex and junior championships. Obi performed well during the competition and scored goals in consecutive matches, which got him recognized by other clubs in Brazil. He then spent four years in Brazil, playing for multiple second-division clubs. Obi demonstrated a record of success and contributed to the success of Capital FC, getting promoted to the first division and winning the Campeonato Tocantense Premiership.

In 2023 the 24-year-old had an opportunity of making his childhood dreams come true by playing in Europe and signed to GKS Wilga Garwolin, who plays in the 4th Liga in Poland. He joined the club at the end of the season in February 2023 He is signed with GKS Wilga Garwolin until the end of the 2024 Season.

Obi is a very humble guy that’s hardworking, resilient and focused. He is well-respected by his family and peers and always goes out of his way to help others. He is dating an Australian girl named Jana, who recently joined him in Poland.
